Free 'Introduction to Media' - Improving Reach training
Bristol - Tuesday 11 December 2007 from 01:45 until 05:00 PM
London - Wednesday 12 December 2007 from 01:45 until 05:00 PM
This training seminar aims to help 'hard to reach' organisations with
their media and communications needs. Pitched at an introductory level
participants learn the skills and self-confidence to gain positive
coverage in the media and to produce better promotional materials.
Please note:
As part of the Improving Reach project this course is only available
for small to medium sized charities or volunteer organisations working
with the following priority groups:
- Black and Minority Ethnic (BME)
- Faith
- Migrant and / or Refugee
- Isolated Rural
Outcomes:
- Identify your target audience
- Target the relevant media
- Understand what makes a good news story
- Learn how to write a press release
- Build relationships with journalists
- Radio interview preparation
- Find out how to deal with difficult questions and hostile
interviewers.
