Getting a Fair Deal from Contracts - Free Course
2 days
Aims: To equip delegates with the knowledge, skills and attitude to
negotiate fairer contracts with government which enhance their
organisational vision and core values
For: Managers and trustees who may be involved in bidding for,
negotiating and managing contracts and service agreements between
voluntary and public sector agencies
Learning Outcomes - By the end of the course participants should be
able to:
. Identify key issues, processes and techniques involved in bidding
for and managing contracts and service agreements with public sector
agencies
. Highlight good practice in costing, bidding for and drafting
contracts
. Decide whether a contract is right for them and, if so, enter into
the contracting process in a way that enhances their vision and core
values
. Identify what they need to do to ensure that their organisation is
in a strong position to successfully take on contracts
Content
Day 1:
. Introduction
. About the different types of contracts
. The process of contracting
. Look at experience so far through case studies
Day 2:
. Putting the contract together
. Contract management
. Organisational implications
. Taking it forward
NB: This course has been created as part of the Fair Deal Programme
the development of which has been funded by the Baring Foundation

Free - but:
Payments: £100 deposit which will be refunded on the completion of the
programme
Reimbursement: £100 deposit is refunded on completion of the full
programme. The full programme is made up of four sessions, in order to
be reimbursed you need to attend all four sessions. When the programme
is completed you will be reimbursed in the form of your original
payment method.
