Welcome Hear! Half day free seminar

Promoting positive attitudes towards employing deaf and hard of
hearing people

The Royal Association for Deaf people is a registered charity
supporting deaf people in London and the South East.

We are currently delivering a project entitled 'Welcome Hear' funded
by the London Development Agency, which aims to promote positive
attitudes towards employing deaf and hard of hearing people. Deaf and
hard of hearing people are currently underrepresented in the workplace
and we are trying to support employers to address this issue. We are
running a series of half day seminars, and would like to invite a
representative of your organisation to attend free of charge.

The seminars are light-hearted and enjoyable (with great cakes), but
deliver important information on:
* the business case for employing deaf and hard of hearing people
* how the Disability Discrimination Act relates to the recruitment and
employment of deaf people (ie. is your organisation breaking the law?)
* Access to Work support for deaf people
* Deaf awareness for the workplace

Who should attend? Anyone from any size of organisation who is
responsible for recruiting and/or line-managing staff.

Venue: Morrell Business Centre, 98 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3AT

When?
Thursday, 9 August 2007 Morning (places available)
Thursday, 9 August 2007 Afternoon (places available)

If you would like to attend, please e-mail Eamonn Fuller
