Capita's 3rd National Equality and Diversity in Social Housing
Conference
Thursday 6th December 2007 - Central London
Aims and objectives
Housing providers have moral, legal and regulatory duties to ensure
that their services are accessible to all. Promoting equality and
diversity throughout the culture of the organisation and providing
accessible services is essential if all tenants are to have equal and
fair access.
Current policy and legislation has set the foundation, but there is a
long way to go before equality and diversity is mainstreamed in all
levels of service provision.
With a review of equality duties currently underway and recent changes
in inspections, housing providers increasingly need to adopt a more
strategic and holistic approach to delivering equality and diversity
if they are to succeed.
Providers across the sector take responsibility for enabling the most
vulnerable and socially excluded and those facing discrimination, to
be fully engaged and consulted in service design and delivery. This
one-day conference will provide you with both strategic guidance and
best practice at the local level to assist you in overcoming the
barriers in this challenging agenda.
