BAME Political Awareness Project - Time to make a Difference - Free
Training

Sahara Communities Abroad (SACOMA) is a voluntary organisation
offering Information and Guidance to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic
(BAME) people in the community. SACOMA was established in 2000 and our
services include Business Start up, Training and Development, Social
Enterprise, Access to Finance, Information and Advice on Immigration,
Housing, and Welfare Rights, Voting in the UK and Pensions and
Retirement Planning.

SACOMA's initiatives and support programmes are responsive and
proactive to meet the individual needs of the migrant and BAME
communities, to enable them to gain access to available information,
resources, gain self-esteem and foster personal and community
development. One of the ways individuals can do this is to exercise
their voting rights.

SACOMA is currently working in partnership with the Electoral
Commission in disseminating information in order to engage ethnic
minority people, including the youth, to register to vote and
participate in the democratic system.

We take every opportunity to engage with people of the target group
and talk about voting and help them register to vote if desired. We
offer 1 hour interactive workshops, and 30-minute presentations, which
include a 10-minute question and answer session, as well as one-on-one
sessions.

All our services are absolutely free and we are glad to carry out the
sessions at your premises.

It is on this note that I am writing to you. I hope we will be able to
work together.
