London Councils and EU support for disadvantaged groups
London Councils is welcoming tenders from voluntary and not-for-profit
organisations under its European Social Fund co-financing programme.
The programme aims to improve labour market opportunities and enhance
the employability of some of the most disadvantaged and excluded
groups in London.
Projects will run for up to 24 months with programme delivery taking
place between April 2008 and March 2010. There will be £7.2m available
for funded activities.
The new programme will support the following target groups:
* Disabled parents
* People with mental health conditions
* People recovering from drug and alcohol addiction
* Homeless individuals
* Homeless families
* Jobless parents
* Refugees and asylum seekers
* Women from BME groups with low rates of labour market participation
* Carers and former carers over the age of 50
