KPMF Foundation
The KPMG Foundation was established in October 2001. The Foundation
has a capital sum of £10 million. The Foundation is a completely
separate entity to KPMG LLP (UK), although it is purely funded by KPMG
in the UK (RC).
The focus of the KPMG Foundation is on education and social projects
for the disadvantaged and under privileged, with particular emphasis
on unlocking the potential of children and young people, up to 30
years of age, who for primarily social reasons have not fulfilled
their educational potential.
In particular, the trustees have chosen to support four very distinct
groups within this broad umbrella of "disadvantage". Those groups are:
* Refugees
* Young offenders
* Children and young people who have been in care
* Children and young people with dyslexia/literacy difficulties
Application Process
The KPMG Foundation considers applications for the General Grants
programme once a year. Throughout the year, we capture all
organizations keen to apply for funding on a database. When the
Trustees agree their funding date at the end of each year for the
following year, we write to all organizations on our database
providing them with details of the funding date, when applications
must be submitted and any specific criteria defined by the Trustees.
If you would like your details added to our database then please email
us at kpmgfoundation at kpmg.co.uk.

In addition to completing the application form, you should submit a
detailed proposal (three pages maximum). This should document the
following:
* An outline description (not exceeding two pages of):
* What is proposed and what will be achieved with the grant
* The need that will be tackled and how it was assessed
* How long the project will take to complete
* Who will carry out the work and who will benefit
* Why your organisation is equipped to carry out the work
* How the proposed activity will be documented and evaluated (a
condition of the grant will be that interim quarterly progress reports
and a final report will be made available to the KPMG Foundation
trustees)
* A detailed budget for the activity for which the grant is requested
* Your organisation's most recent audited accounts for financial
report required by the Charities Act (if the year covered by these
accounts ended more than 12 months previously, an income/expenditure
report for the most recent complete financial year must also be
included).
* Your organisation's most recent annual report, if one is published.
Assessments of Applications
The Trustees meet four times a year. Once a year the trustees will
assess all applications and make their funding decisions. If the
Trustees are keen to progress your application a project/site visit
may be undertaken by either one of the trustees or one of the support
team. In addition, the trustees may request that a Financial due
diligence assessment be undertaken, by the Foundation Treasurer, of
the charitable organisation seeking funding.
We must stress that you must meet our criteria, please do not apply if
you do not meet it!
