Staff satisfaction in charities slips
Charity staff are less happy about their work-life balance than they
were last year, research suggests.
The proportion of staff who believe that they have a good work-life
balance has slipped to 62 per cent this year, according to the
preliminary results of the 2008 Charity Pulse survey. This compares
with 71 per cent in last year's survey.
This year's preliminary findings are based on the first 500 responses
to Charity Pulse, the annual staff satisfaction survey by Third Sector
and Birdsong Consulting. The survey is open for responses until 25
April.
The responses gathered so far show that satisfaction with flexible
working policies has slipped by nine percentage points, from 75 per
cent last year to 64 per cent this year. The preliminary findings also
suggest that fewer charity workers think their pay is competitive but
that confidence in senior management has increased.
To take part in the survey, visit the Charity Pulse website.

Full results will be published later in the year.
