Launch of funding to provide second tier support organisations working
to tackle poverty in London - apply by 1st Septebmer 2008
(Service 106)
London Councils invites applications for funding for organisations to
provide 2nd tier support services to London Councils funded frontline
organisations providing services under service priority 4 (European
Social Fund programme to improve employability and labour market
entry) and service priority 53 (Services to tackle child poverty). The
support required would be on a London-wide basis.
The number of groups which need this service and where the need is
located:
The immediate beneficiaries of this second-tier service are the
frontline organisations funded by London Councils under its
commissioning arrangements to deliver services under specifications: 4
and 53.
These frontline service-providers are located in various boroughs and
they provide services which benefit the whole of London. However, this
service will be open to other voluntary sector organisations
delivering European Social Fund (ESF) projects and/or delivering
employment and training within London.
Closing date for applications: 12 noon Monday 1 September 2008
This service will be funded by London Councils and European Social
Fund (ESF) technical assistance programme. The European Social Fund
(ESF) programme in London aims to provide greater access to
sustainable employment, particularly for groups experiencing multiple
barriers to the labour market, and to create a more skilled and
adaptable workforce for the London economy.
There are two main strands to the service:
* Support for voluntary and community organisations to compete
effectively for ESF
* Improving services around employment and training
