It's your Community - up to £1,000 - monthly decisions

Awards of up to £1,000 are available to local groups and individuals
for anything that can be shown to benefit your community.

The awards are independently judged and administered by The
Conservation Foundation on behalf of O2.

They support projects that bring people together and benefit your
community.

Here are some examples in the four categories that have been supported
recently. This list is by no means exhaustive - there are lots more
ideas to be found on the website http://www.itsyourcommunity.co.uk ,
plus new, ground breaking projects are always welcomed:

Rebuild and Restore - They've cleaned up and painted a bus shelter,
restored a sports pavilion's leaking plumbing and fitted insulation to
a local hall.

Cultural - They've provided art materials to a local group, equipment
to a community band and computers to a village shop.

Active - They've helped out with equipment for local clubs from
football to cycling, although can't kit out individuals.

Green and Clean - They've set up and supported community gardens,
woodlands, beaches and paths and improved public access to river banks
and green spaces.

Got an idea? Or know someone passionate about their community? Tell
them about it.

It's easy to apply for an award and it won't take long. Don't miss
out - this is a great opportunity for you to make a positive change in
your community.

Here's what you need to do: First, download their application guide
which will give you all the information you need to fill in the
application form.

Also have a read of their criteria to ensure that your project is the
kind of thing we support.

Basically your idea needs to:
- Bring together and benefit your community;
- Have long lasting effects - that will keep going once the money has
been spent;
- Have real, tangible results that you can see;
- Demonstrate fresh, bold thinking, which is innovative enough to
inspire others.

Now you need to create an account and then complete the application
form.

Finally, your application will be judged within a month and you can
see if you were successful by logging back in to this site after the
10th of the following month.
