London Wide Organisation for Disability - Final Report Released
London Councils has been working with representatives from the
voluntary sector and London Funders to facilitate the development of a
new second tier organisation for the disability sector in London.
London based disability groups of all sizes were consulted about the
types of support services they need and the type of structure that
could best provide these services.
Draft recommendations released in December 2007 were consulted upon
and a final report has now been produced with a clear action plan for
the creation of the new organisation.
London Councils will now be taking steps to implement the consultant's
recommendations and establish the new London Wide Organisation for
Disability in partnership with the voluntary sector in 2008/09.
