Speaker Update: Westminster Briefing - Developing an Integrated
Response to Domestic Violence - 26th February 2008

Dear Colleague,

I enclose updated details of our upcoming Westminster Briefing
entitled:
"Prevention, Intervention and Support: Developing an Integrated
Response
to Domestic Violence" which will be hosted by The House Magazine on
Tuesday, 26th February 2008 in Westminster.

The Government has advocated the need for a more co-ordinated and
integrated approach from local government and its delivery agencies to
tackle domestic violence. Such an approach is required to target the
most vulnerable victims, offer bespoke support, bring offenders to
justice and create safer and cohesive communities for all.

Participants at this Westminster Briefing will debate the future of
Government policy and examine practical measures - with examples of
best
practice - aimed at improving the delivery of domestic violence
services
and building sustainable partnerships at every level.

The chair will be:
* Cllr Ann Lucas, Chair Prostitution Task Force, LGA Safer
Communities Board

Speakers include:
* John Dunworth, Head of Domestic Violence Team, Home Office
* Anthony Wills, Chief Executive, Standing Together Against
Domestic Violence
* Martin Powell, Project Manager, Essex High Sheriff Multi Agency
Looked After Partnership
* Frank Mullane, Campaigner, Brother of Julia Pemberton and uncle
of Will Pemberton, murdered 18 November 2003 by Alan Pemberton
* TBC, Women's Aid

Should you/your colleagues wish to attend, complete and return (by
email
or fax) the enclosed reservation form at your earliest convenience in
order to secure your delegate place(s). Alternatively you can register
via our online booking system (please click here
<http://www.westminster-briefing.co.uk/domestic-violence.html> ). I
would also be grateful if you could forward the details of this event
to
relevant colleagues within your organisation.

Kind regards,
Tom
