Healthcare Charities can win up to £35,000 for existing work (26th
Sept 2008)

Welcome to the GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards.

The IMPACT Awards are now in their twelfth year and are designed to
recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to
improve people's health. They are funded by GlaxoSmithKline and
managed in partnership with The King's Fund.

The awards are open to registered charities that are at least three
years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with a total
annual income between £10,000 and £1 million.

An overall winner will receive £35,000, nine other winners receive
£25,000 and up to ten organisations that are highly commended or
runners up receive £5,000 or £3,000.

You do not need to present a new project. The awards are designed to
recognise success and achievements for existing work.

You decide how to use the award money.

Applicants must be:
. A registered charity by the deadline for applications (26th
September 2008). The organisation must also have existed for a minimum
of three years by this date. We may ask for a copy of your
constitution to confirm this.
. Located in the UK.
. Targeting community health needs in the UK. Community can be defined
as a geographical community or a community of interest.
. Able to point to a track record of achievement in community health
issues.
. Small or medium sized organisations with total annual income between
£10,000 and £1 million as shown in your most recent accounts (produced
within ten months of your year end).
. Independently constituted from any national umbrella organisation.
