Concise guidelines published to mark Compact Week
An abbreviated version of the Compact has been published to mark this
year's Compact Week.
The Commission for the Compact has also released the Concise Compact
Guide to tie in with the 10th anniversary of the agreement, which sets
out how public sector bodies and third sector organisations should
behave towards each other.
"The Compact and its five codes of practice run to more than 150
pages, so we decided to develop the guide in response to calls to make
it more accessible," said Ruth Fennemore, policy adviser at the
commission.
"It's designed primarily as a reference tool to help busy people
quickly check the Compact guidelines they should be following in
particular situations, through an easy referencing approach referring
to sectors and themes."
The booklet is designed only as a point of reference and people should
still read the full guidelines in the complete Compact and codes of
practice, she added.
Compact Week, which ends on Saturday, has been run to raise awareness
of the agreement through various events.
