Parenting Fund Round 3 Funding - 23 areas - apply by 12 Dec 08

The third round of the Parenting Fund provides a grant fund from the
Department for Children, Schools and Families (formerly the DfES) of
£16 million over two years (£8 million per year). It will be for a
24-month period for projects starting in April 2009. The application
period will be 15 October 2008 to 12 December 2008. Recipients will be
charities and "not for profit" organisations undertaking parenting
support work where parents, families and children face significant
challenges.

The key features of the third round of the Parenting Fund are:

(1) Promoting social inclusion and improving access to services and
support for less well-served communities will remain a cornerstone of
the fund. In Round 3 there is no separate criteria for working with
Teenage Parents. Working with this group of parents is implicit across
the criteria and applications from organisations will be considered
accordingly. The criteria for the Parenting Fund are listed at
http://www.familyandparenting.org/ParentingFundCriteria and have been
selected to be consistent with the Children's Plan.

(2) As in Parenting Fund Round 2, the grant will be focused on 23
localities (see list at
http://www.familyandparenting.org/PF3Localities). Funded projects are
expected to deliver learning and outcomes that can be picked up
nationally. Also, organisations would be able to apply to work in and
across a number of localities, as was the case with Rounds 1 and 2.

Completed applications must be submitted by noon on Friday 12 December
2008 Assessment, decisions and award making will take place between
December 2008 and January 2009.
