WV1 1HT
Time: 9.30am to 4.00pm - Drinks Reception 4.00pm to 7.00pm

This innovative conference, hosted by The Haven Wolverhampton, aims to
aid the sharing of best practice, publicise new ways of working to
prevent Domestic Violence and bring to light the latest research on
rebuilding the lives of those affected by this form of abuse.

'Improving Futures: Working Together to End Domestic Violence - New
Solutions for a New World' will fall during International Women's Week
and feature speakers from across the globe.

Speakers include:
* Margaret Moran, MP (Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on
Domestic Violence)
* Gill Atkins (Chair of the Board, The Haven Wolverhampton)
* Kath Rees (Chief Executive, The Haven Wolverhampton)
* Professor Liz Kelly (Chief Executive, Child & Women Abuse Studies
Unit, London Metropolitan University)
* Diana Barran (Chief Executive, Co-ordinated Action Against Domestic
Abuse (CAADA))
* Trish Harrison (Project Manager, WORTH Project)
* Lisa Welsh (Board Member, The Haven Wolverhampton and former Vice
Chair of Disability West Midlands)

Trafficking in Women International)
* Casey Gwinn & Gael Strack (President and Chief Executive, Family
Justice Centre Alliance, USA)
* Zarin Hainsworth (President of UNIFEM and Immediate Past Chair of
the National Alliance of Women's Organisations)

This is a wonderful opportunity for guests to listen to speakers who
will examine methods and techniques which can help turn around the
lives of those who are affected by Domestic Violence as well as gain
an insight into how Domestic Violence is tackled in various parts of
the world.

It is a sad fact that one in four women in the UK and one in three
women worldwide will suffer Domestic Violence in their lifetime at the
hands of a partner, former partner or family member. In Wolverhampton
alone 3870 incidents of Domestic Violence were reported to the police
in 2007.

This conference is open to anyone - from those working within the
field to those who simply wish to learn more about the subject.

Prices start from £99 per person. Student discounts and concessions
apply.
