Consultation on the Mayor's Violence Against Women Strategy for London

"Take integrated measures to prevent and eliminate violence against
women"
UN requirement

The Mayor is developing a Violence Against Women Strategy for London.

Have your say on what should be in it!

The GLA is building on the success of the London Domestic Violence
Strategies to develop a Violence Against Women Strategy for London.
This exciting development takes place at a time when the government
has confirmed it will be consulting on a national violence against
women strategy and follows from other key public bodies taking this
approach around the UK (including the CPS and the Scottish
Government).

End Violence Against Women is working with the Child and Woman Abuse
Studies Unit to develop the Mayor's London Strategy. They would like
to invite you to participate in a consultation event on 19 January
2009 to tell them how you think the strategy should tackle and prevent
all forms of VAW across London.

Details:
Monday 19th January 2009, 2 - 5 pm
Human Rights Action Centre (Amnesty UK)
17 - 25 New Inn Yard
EC2A 3EA

RSVP by 12 January 09 to natalie.ntim at amnesty.org.uk. Do pass this
invite on to other VCS organisations working on violence against women
and girls in London but places are limited so book early!

Please note that there will also be an online consultation in January
for those not able to attend the event

All the best
