I am including below information on events jobs, and activities that
might be of use or possible interest to your work.

A Head of Policy is being sought by Race on the Agenda (ROTA),
London's leading social policy think-tank focusing on issues affecting
Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities. The post offers
the opportunity to lead on the organisation's policy and research
programme working with the experienced and passionate policy team. The
closing date for applications is Monday 23rd February 2009. Successful
candidates will be notified on 27th February to attend an interview on
Monday 2nd March 2009. They would like the successful candidate to

The Local Grants Forum has published Defending local grants: resources
you can use to help in convincing councillors, commissioning officers

Clinks 10th AGM NOMS and the Voluntary Sector: A fresh start? Will
take place from 1pm on 29th January at the Institute of Materials,

NCVYS is hosting two free Talking Diversity taster days on 4th and
17th February 2009 at their London office. The events will consider
how to make your work attractive to young people from different faith

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson, has joined with Diane Abbott MP to
organise the sixth London Schools and the Black Child Conference:
Educational Opportunity For All - Without Exclusion on Saturday 7th
February. The event is an opportunity for to participate in the debate
on the new strategies to tackle the many challenges faced by young

The Ministry of Justice is setting up a new Reducing Re-offending
Third Sector Advisory Group and inviting application. The group will
provide advice to Ministers and senior officials on reducing
re-offending from a third sector perspective; advise and oversee
progress on the implementation of 'Working with the Third Sector to
Reduce Re-offending 2008-2011'; and inform strategic and operational
policy to support delivery. The closing date for applications is noon
on 9th February 2009 and further information is further information is

BTEG and the Development Trusts Association are working together to
raise awareness and promote the DTA's Communities of Interest
membership to the BME Third Sector that are setting up or supporting
community enterprise activity. Events are taking place in: Manchester

The Wai Yin Chinese Women Society are celebrating 20 years of
achievement by hosting a Thinking Globally Acting locally conference
on the role of Chinese women in the UK and in the world. This takes

Nominations are now open for the Muslim Women Power List 2009 to
commend the achievements of Muslim women in business, the arts, media,
voluntary and public sectors. It will raise awareness of their social
and economic contribution to British working life and celebrate their
success at a gala dinner at The Lowry Hotel on 24 March 2009.  Entries
are invited on behalf of, or from, any Muslim women currently living
and working in the UK. Nominations can be submitted until 16th

The Women's Resource Centre has been asked by a group of independent
charitable funders to conduct an assessment of voluntary and community
organisations and projects in the UK which are: currently working in
the FGM (female genital mutilation) field; or supporting women and
girls who have experienced or are at risk of FGM; or interested in, or
have the potential to work in this area.  The group of charitable
funders is looking at possibly funding FGM work in the future. If you

The National Equality Partnership in partnership with English Regions
Equality Network (EREN) is holding its first national conference
Equalities United? Pan-Equality Networks in the Third Sector on
Thursday 26th February 2009 in Birmingham. The event will focus on a
pan-equality working approach that brings together the experiences and
perspectives of different equalities 'strands' or groups of people,
and addressing different forms of discrimination and abuse together.

The Home Office's £4.5m Community Fund - helping the community tackle
guns, gangs and knives will provide help and support for young people,
parents and victims by supporting activities in 13 priority areas.
Organisations can apply for grant funding of up to £10,000 per annum
