Final call for Media Trust cut-price video scheme

Small charities are being offered a last chance to have a cut-price promotional
film produced by the Media Trust.

The communications charity's Volunteer Films scheme is looking for 25 charities
with annual turnovers of less than £2m, for which it will produce five-minute
films to be shown on its Community Channel.

The Media Trust will charge £1,000 for the films, which would cost up to £15,000
to produce commercially, according to a spokesman. The deadline for applications
is 31 July.

The project, which is being funded by the Cabinet Office, has so far produced
more than 100 films for small charities in England. The films have been used for
fundraising, awareness-raising and recruiting volunteers.

The equivalent of £1m in time and resources has been donated to the scheme by
the media industry, and the films will be produced by professional film-makers
and broadcasters.
