Subject: EHRC Consultation on EU Article 13 Equal Treatment Directive
Dear Colleagues,
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is inviting interested parties to feed
in to our response to the Government's consultation on the EU Article 13 Equal
Treatment directive.
The directive covers goods and services in the four remaining grounds not
already covered by EU law - these are age, sexual orientation, religion or
belief and disability. More information on the directive can be found on our
website
http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/fairer-britain/legislative-framework/eu-equal-treatment-directive/.
The Government's consultation on the directive runs until the 28th July and we
strongly encourage all interested parties to respond to the consultation.
EHRC will be circulating its draft consultation response shortly for comment.
Please find attached to this email our own questionnaire on the consultation,
your input is valuable to us as it will enable us to present a stronger and more
thorough response. You can email a completed questionnaire to us at
EUDirective at equalityhumanrights.com or complete the digital version on our
website http://cecollect.com/vf/7830r9691Z7165F658528
There are a number of other ways to feed your views in or ask questions to EHRC
about the consultation:
* We are holding two drop in sessions in our London office, these are:
- Tuesday 23 June 9am-12noon
- Monday 6 July 12noon- 4pm
Please e-mail EUDirective at equalityhumanrights.com to book a slot.
If there is further demand for drop in sessions we would be happy to arrange
them for our other offices too. For any queries or to discuss any aspect of the
consultation please contact us -
* by email at EUDirective at equalityhumanrights.com
* by phone, to Naureen Khan on 020 3117 0321
Many thanks
Yours sincerely,
Jackie Beer
