Community Voices for Health engagement and development event

9.30am to 2pm, Thursday 2 July 2009, City Hall

We are pleased to invite you on behalf of the Mayor of London and Chair of the
London Health Commission to an engagement and development event to support the
shaping of a Communities Voices for Health network for London.  The network will
support the work of the London Health Commission and the Mayor of London’s
Health Inequalities Strategy by promoting ongoing engagement, learning and
development with community groups about key health priorities for Londoners.

Community Voices for Health will be distinctive in the following ways:
· By focusing on making London healthier and reducing health inequalities.
· Being led by a working group of community groups and interested individuals
who are playing an active role in promoting health and reducing health
inequalities.
· Offering a flexible level of involvement, with members being able to be part
of the working group or just signing up for regular information.

July’s engagement event will focus on developing the structure of the network
and discussing its initial priorities for action.

A wide range of community groups, both those who have already been involved with
existing programmes and those new to our work are welcome to attend.  In
particular we welcome involvement from smaller groups.
