20th March at Albemarle Centre in Taunton and 27th March at York CVS
NAVCA are leading a day of free workshops for local support and
infrastructure organisations showing how to plan wisely and to make
the most of their technology and to save money.
The workshops are aimed at:
* development workers who advise groups on what they need to know
about computers and ways they can maximise the funds available for
technology.
* managers and trustees who would like to plan better use of
technology to save money and make their organisation more efficient.
* those who look after the technology in an organisation, but need
extra support to make it work better and fresh ideas to save money.
In the current economic climate all support providers are facing
increased pressure to deliver services to groups and are seeing
internal resources and systems stretched.
A cut in funding or increase in service demand can sometimes mean that
investment in computer systems, training or support can take second
place.
The workshops will help your organisation and those you support to be
more resilient:
* by identifying the key technology areas used and vulnerabilities in
the organisation.
* by giving practical advice, skills and the ability to adapt as
necessary the way technology is used.
* by providing free resources to share with frontline groups.
* by making the funding the organisation has work smarter.
* by showing examples of good practice in planning and effective use
of technology.
* by explaining the way to health check your computers and showing the
free tools that will make them more efficient.
There will also be a social media master class providing an excellent
insight into how social media can help organisations be truly
effective and achieve positive change.

It would be great if you or someone from your organisation was able to
attend the event.
Please could you also add details of these workshops to your events
listing page and publicise it in any newsletters or emails you are
sending out in the next few weeks to groups you think may find these
workshops useful.
The workshops have been made possible through funding for these
programmes from Capacitybuilders.
