London Civic Forum and the London Assembly invite you to attend the next How
London Works event, focusing on the work of the London Assembly.
The London Assembly holds the Mayor of London to account and investigates issues
that matter to Londoners.The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity
for Equalities organisations from the voluntary and community sector to hear
about the work of the London Assembly in its role as watchdog for London.
Participants will have an opportunity to hear from senior personnel about the
work of the London Assembly and gain an understanding of how Equalities
organisations can engage strategically and effectively with its work.
Participants are also invited to attend Mayors Question Time in the Chamber,
from 10am, before this event. A buffet lunch will be provided for event
attendees at 1pm in Committee Room 5.
The event will:
· inform participants about the work of the London Assembly and its role as
watchdog for London
· explain how participants can have their concerns raised and how they can most
effectively input in the work of the London Assembly
· provide an opportunity for voluntary and community sector organisations to
network and make contacts with the London Assembly
· provide an opportunity for representatives of the London Assembly to hear
about the range of talents and skills represented within the equalities sector
