National Lottery funding Consultation
On 19 May 2010, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, outlined
his vision for the cultural sector and the National Lottery.
He proposed that Big Lottery Fund's 50 per cent share of the total good cause
allocation would be reduced to 46 per cent by April 2011 and down to 40 per cent
by April 2012. The three other good causes: arts, sports and heritage, will
benefit equally from the remaining share.
Grants for voluntary and community sector will then go up by a fifth to £630m in
2013/14 after the Olympics.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) recently launched a three
month consultation on these proposals to change the way Lottery shares are
distributed.
NCVO will be responding to this consultation and they are interested in your
views. For more information, read the NCVO briefing on the proposed changes and
