Reel Time -Video & film making workshops:

1st  session at mac (Midlands Arts Centre) Cannon Hill Park 6pm - 8pm Tuesday
22nd June

Join renowned video artist, and winner of several artistic awards, (including
Ikon Gallery award 2007), Sue Challis, and Learn how to film and edit video and
make a film about your life, your ideas, your feelings. Whatever part of
Birmingham or the world you are from, if you are a Muslim woman (over 16) who
has something to say to the world - or wants to help other women be heard - this
course is for you.  No experience needed - just want to do it - bring your
mates, your mum and your gran….

Four days to shake the world – Arts workshops!

Four days of FREE arts workshops at the mac (Midlands Arts Centre), Cannon Hill
Park, Tuesday 27th July, Weds 28th July, Thursday 29th July & Friday 30th July –
10am – 4pm

We want to give women an opportunity and the skills to express their thoughts
and feelings, ideas and views – personal and political – and to enjoy the
process too! The workshops are being lead by three professional women artists
(Dilwara Begum, Sue Challis & Adrienne Frances) and will include basic printing,
collage, video, bookmaking, and much much more.

Young People - Breakin Barriers Healin The Hood – Creative writing & CD
production!

5 days of creative writing workshops for young people + 2 days FREE production
in compiling your own CD!!...work with 3 highly skilled and talented music
artists working in the Hip Hop and Rap industry – Juice Aleem, Justice Hotep, &
Wasif Elai Immortal

….have something to say?! then now’s the time to Rap to the sound of your own
beat -  rap it up!!

‘Breakin Barriers Healin the Hood’ is an exciting music project which aims to
bring together skilled grass roots artists, including mc’s, lyrical poets, and
rappers....

The aim of these workshops is for young people who are passionate about music to
generate ideas with the artists, that would lead to original writing of ‘rap’s,
poems and stories and be consolidated with 2 days of recording their word onto
CD!...with the opportunity of showcasing their final piece at an arts venue in
Birmingham...


These workshops are part of the Aman Project – Safety, Security & Peace – run by
the Muslim Women’s Network (Building a Global Community)
