Introduction
There has been growing criticism of the way in which rape is reported
and recorded, particularly in relation to the police response and
processes of investigation, prosecution and conviction. This
conference will examine the obstacles to securing safe convictions
while respecting the rights of the accused and protecting the
interests of victims. Keynote speakers from Government and the Police
will outline their responses to these criticisms and their immediate
plans for reform.
