Subject: DV Training info

Would it be possible to include the following under training events please? We
have several dates and venues arranged don't know it they can be included too?

SCHOOL'S OUT - A unique one-day training event on the effects of DV on Children
Essex 21st May 2010 - 9.30am to 3.30pm

The MORNING SESSION will be led by Pat Craven, internationally renowned Author
and inspired Domestic Abuse Trainer. Following an introduction to the tactics of
the ‘Dominator’ Pat will lead you on a powerful and emotional journey through
the life of a child. This session, initially developed alongside the NSPCC, will
enable you to explore the needs of the key developmental stages, from the
pregnant mother and unborn baby, through infancy to the teenage years and how
these needs are directly and indirectly impacted when domestic abuse is present.
Pat will also explore the improvements that can be made when the appropriate
support is provided for families.

“A vital resource for anyone where domestic abuse touches their lives, whether
it be personally, a friend or someone they work with.” Susan Puffett, Principal
Community Safety Officer Salford Council.

“Probably the most important training you will ever undertake” Linda, Surestart

The AFTERNOON SESSION will be led by CERTAIN CURTAIN THEATRE COMPANY.
Trailblazers in domestic abuse drama for over sixteen years, this
multi-award-winning International Touring Company presents its highly acclaimed
drama MOCKINGBIRD HIGH a mesmerising, lyrical exploration of the devastating
impact of domestic violence on young people and family relationships. A
performance that will leave you BREATHLESS!

The Play - Mockingbird High School is empty and dark. However, in a
locked-classroom, deep in the basement, a light still burns. Two pupils are
conducting an unusual experiment - the trial of their Mother for neglect and
abuse. If guilty, there’s only one sentence – death… An essential experience for
anyone working in the field of safeguarding children this explosive drama
examines the ‘cycle of abuse,’ sexual bullying, patterns of abusive behaviour
and the long-term impact on children.

“Best piece of theatre I have seen in the last 5 years I was moved beyond
words!” – Deputy Head Winifred Holtby School, HULL

“Left me speechless – Absolutely outstanding” Helen NSPCC

“What a powerful performance – had tears rolling down my face – It was superb!”
