Last year saw the Slut Walk and the activity of Hollaback and the programme would be looking at future events of that kind. It expects to consider the workplace, the street and the home, and to talk to men and women about how language and entrenched attitudes degrade women and undermine the relationships between the sexes, and how they are confused by some as part of traditional sexual byplay. The programme will be presented by the writer/broadcaster Yasmeen Khan, and produced by Richard Bannerman of Ladbroke Productions. Why a blog = for IWD

 

Women in = London (WiL) – http://www.womeninlondon.org.uk= – was originally set up as a project of Microsyster (a = women’s computer group – http://www.womeninl= ondon.org.uk/microsyster/) although it is now an autonomous group = run by volunteers to provide a listing service by and about = women’s groups.

 

WiL was = launched in February 1999 and in response to requests from groups we = listed IWD events that year, but acknowledged we had been inspired by = the innovative Quine web site now sadly inactive (http://www.quine.org.uk/). As WiL = evolved each year we would feature IWD events in the UK and highlight = them via our calendars etc., and in recent years have set up blogs = – http://iwd2011.wordpress.com/&= #8211; http://iwd2010.wordpress.com/ = – http://iwd2009.wordpress.com/ = – http://iwd2008.wordpress.com/<= o:p>
